An SSN Verification, formerly known as an SSN Name Match, links the applicant’s name, Social Security Number (SSN), and Date of Birth (DOB) from the Social Security Administration (SSA) using Consent Based SSN Verification (CBSV).
This verification also cross-references the applicant’s information with the Death Master Index (DMI) to ensure the SSN is not that of a deceased person, adding another layer of protection from those who might apply with a false identity.
An SSN Verification links an applicant’s name, Social Security Number, and
Date of Birth from the Social Security Administration.
1 A separate form is required. See > Knowledge Base > Employer Forms for Form SSA-89 from SSA.
